Assists the Staff Personnel Officer (S1) in support of the unit's personnel and administration systems. This department functions as the essential Human Resources liaison between its own organic organizations and those at the higher headquarters or the military personnel office.
- Prepare and process recommendations for awards and decorations and arranges for award ceremonies.
- Prepares and monitors requests for promotions and arranges for promotion ceremonies, including promotion declinations, reconsideration for promotions, and arranges for reduction and removal boards for soldiers on local promotion standing lists.
- Prepares and monitors requests for reductions, transfers, and discharges.
- Assists with Deployment for Training packet preparation and processing.
- Prepares and processes leaves, and permissive Temporary Duty requests.
- Prepares and updates the database of personnel actions, personnel processing, training, reassignments, personnel accounting, and strength management, transition processing, meal cards, and unit administration.
- Prepares input and control data, reads, interprets, and reconciles generated reports pertinent to the unit level, and determines reportable changes, category, duty status codes, and other documentation required for transactions.
- Prepare military and non-military correspondence in draft and final copy in accordance with AR 25-50 and other applicable regulations.
- Prepares and maintains functional files per the Army Records Information Management System.
- Assists with Unit Trauma program.
- Assists with the Sergeant Audie Murphy Board.
- Assists in preparation and attends S-1 meetings for the unit of assignment. Compiles minutes from all meetings.
- Compiles and reviews weekly command and staff briefings. Reviews dental, Medical Protection System, and Post Deployment Health Assessment program statistics.
